What is NiniMomo?

Officially in business since August 1996, NiniMomo has spent nearly three decades creating exquisite one-of-a-kind doll designs. Each doll reflects the designers’ belief in originality, top-of-the-line quality, and creativity. A NiniMomo goes through a metamorphosis as she transforms into a stunning, cutting-edge, fashion savvy couture beauty ready for the runway. Based on a pageant theme, each doll dons evening ensembles richly and painstakingly embellished with hand-beaded details and/or Swarovski crystal rhinestones. Their Hand-sewn beadwork and usage of Swarovski crystal elements have become the company's forte and specialty. Delegate dolls range from international and exotic beauties in a multitude of ethnicities to the many changing faces that represent America and the World. Each NiniMomo may be inspired by the world's great fashion designers. The traditional costuming of their region or inspiration may come simply from a swatch of fabric. Along with their dramatic hand-beaded detailing, each ensemble has been luxuriously created in the richest of fabrics and the highest of quality with gorgeous and intricate detailing. Each delegate doll undergoes a transformation characterized by dramatically rooted eyelashes, facial makeover, various hairstyles, carefully crafted headpieces, accessories and jewelry which accentuate each doll’s unique evening ensemble. The company prides itself on creating gowns that are not only elegant and sophisticated but are practical in the sense that it would be no surprise to see some of these designs on fashion's most discriminating runways or parading across the pageant stage.

Who We Are

Ninimomo designer and owner Mr. Nik Moronese, who earned a BFA from Hofstra University (Long Island – NY) in photography, merges his interests in the fashion industry and pageants. Associated with several of the state preliminaries for the Miss USA/Universe pageant systems, Moronese enjoys coaching young women to personal success, always believing success to be the result of a good attitude. Over the years, Moronese’s freelance fashion photography has been published throughout the country and the tristate area and he has worked with such agencies as Wilhelmina, Elite, Click and Storm. With a background and experience in the fashion and pageant industries, Moronese feels he brings a special talent to the company which he started with Marie Lebreton.

Ms. Marie Lebreton, earned both a BA and MA from Hofstra in biology and health care administration, respectively. Marie contributes, among other talents, her lifelong love of sewing to NiniMomo. At a very young age, Marie was introduced to the sewing machine by her mother, and quickly became involved in making clothing for herself and friends. Before collaborating with Moronese on NiniMomo creations, Marie’s professional career focused on nonprofit work for a New York AIDS organization where she coordinated client services. Desiring to have more time to exercise her creative skills, Marie joined with Nik to pursue doll craft and design full time.
