Located in the Apennines of Northern Italy, from one of the smallest republics in the world, San Marino, comes this most stunning Chrisian Dior vintage inspired evening ensemble from the late 90’s.
Miss San Marino is a delicate vision in her harlequin themed evening ensemble that begins with a halter style bodice of white 100% silk charmeuse which has been meticulously hand-painted with a harlequin pattern of diamonds in sea foam green and white.
Meticulously and painstakingly accenting each of the diamonds of the harlequin pattern is hand-sewn embroidery in silver metallic thread creating a subtle and delicate pattern to the already impressive bodice.
Diamonds have been further accented with bordered hand-sewn beadwork in crystal and sea foam seed beads as well as translucent and iridescent sea foam green sequins.
Upper border of triangular bodice has been edged in hand-sewn beadwork as well as genuine Swarovski crystal rhinestones in shimmering clear.
Halter neck of hand-sewn crystal seed beads.
Bottom edge of bodice has been finished in a diamond edge to play off harlequin theme, all of which have been accented with hand-sewn beadwork.
Bodice gives way to a dramatic draping skirt consisting of four layered panels of 100% silk charmeuse in alternating white and sea foam green.
Top three panels of silk charmeuse in alternating sea foam to white to sea foam each have been created in a triangular edges and laid atop one another in opposite to create a play on the harlequin pattern of bodice.
Each panel has been exquisitely enhanced with hand-sewn beadwork along each triangular edge in crystal seed beads and sequins.
Drizzling lengths of hand-sewn sea foam seed beads have been added to panels as well.
Finally, the four panel which lies beneath the harlequin layered top is extra long and draping.
This fourth panel has been gorgeously and painstakingly hand-beaded with crystal sequins and seed beads all along entire edge of silk with additional drizzles of hand-sewn sequins throughout panel.
To hold the dramatic shape of this stunning ensemble, a custom made petticoat is worn beneath.
Semi-sheer white gauntlets have been richly bedecked with scattered hand-sewn miniscule sequins and seed beads in crystal, white and sea foam, heaviest along with ends.
Dazzling is the headdress consisting of six vibrant and shimmering rhinestone diamonds that have been placed in hair to resemble a tiara.
A plume of white ostrich feathers emanate from back of hair.
Miss San Marino carries the perfect accessory, a masquerade mask of lime and sea foam sparkle complete with ostrich feather and Swarovski crystal rhinestone snowflake accents. Mask and stick have been created by Linda Taylor. NiniMomo has accented the mask with feathers and Swarovski. The golden handle of the mask is adorned with seed beads.
Shoes have been studded with genuine Swarovski crystal rhinestones.
